A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone, providing a foundation for a replacement tooth or teeth.
Dental implants offer incredible benefits. When compared to traditional dentures or bridges, dental implants offer improved oral health, increased confidence, and better functionality and comfort.
Most people who are in good general health, have healthy gums, and have adequate bone to support an implant can be considered candidates. A thorough evaluation by a dentist or oral surgeon is necessary.
Dental implants can replace a single tooth or the entire arch of missing teeth.
The implant process can vary depending on your individual needs and circumstances. In some cases, we can plan, create, and place your implants from start to finish in just one day!
Some patients may be candidates for "same-day implants," where a temporary tooth is placed on the same day as the implant. However, this is not suitable for everyone.
Most dental implants are made of titanium, which is biocompatible and integrates well with bone. The crowns can be made of porcelain, ceramic, or metal alloys.
Dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. Success rates can vary depending on the location of the implants and the patient's overall health.
Care for dental implants just like natural teeth with regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. Avoid hard foods and smoking to maintain their longevity.
